Ying
was born and raised in northeastern mainland
China. After graduating from teachers college
and teaching for a few years, she began a career
as a travel agent for international tourists.
Traveling around the country afforded her the
opportunity to experience the unique tastes
the different regions of China have to offer.
Over the years, she gained an appreciation for
the rich flavors and traditions of each cuisine
and for the art of Chinese cooking. Over a decade
ago, Ying came to the US to share her knowledge
and talents. She has provided cooking demonstrations
and interviews in a variety of venues including
television, newspaper and radio, starred in
her own local television cooking show, and taught
Chinese cooking in many cities in 4 states around
the Midwest. Today, a devoted wife and mother
of three children, she continues sharing the
secrets of authentic Chinese cooking with many
students in her cooking classes and through
her cookbook, “Ying’s Chinese Cookbook,
Authentic but Simple.” |
